Remnants was an application that was a unique take on collaborative songwriting and song cataloging. It was developed for North American markets and was targeting new bands and artists. Users could list their bands on it and under that, they could upload songs and accompanying lyrics. Members of a band could then come together to work on individual songs and this collaborative approach to song making was what made this application unique.
Understanding how bands approach song-making was the toughest aspect of this application since a UI/UX that didn’t address that was doomed to fail. The structure of the application was turning out to be really complex since the client had demanded a very nested architecture and the functionality to drag and drop lyrics across songs.
We interviewed some local bands and worked with them closely while developing this application. The UI/UX was stellar and the bands that we tested out this application with had great things to say about this. It also had an intercom facility so that the users could immediately get in touch with customer support, from inside the application.
This application still has some time left before it’s official launch as the client is working on getting as many bands on-board as possible, but the first customers of this application keep returning back to it since there is nothing else like this out there.
